Most of the certified coffee in our supply chain comes from producers who certify directly with Caravela—not through cooperatives or associations. This matters. It means we can trace every certified lot back to the individual farm, giving roasters a higher level of confidence in the integrity of the certification. Caravela helps cover audit costs and provides the technical assistance needed to achieve certification, but we don’t require exclusivity back. The model is based on trust, not dependency. For producers, it opens access to higher-value markets. For roasters, it guarantees traceability and alignment with recognized environmental and social standards, without compromising quality or transparency.
